Associate Professor Aeron Hurt is the Deputy Director (Acting) and Head of the Antiviral Susceptibility Analysis unit at the WHO Collaborating Centre for Reference and Research on Influenza, Melbourne, Australia. In addition, Aeron heads a productive research team at the WHO Centre, working on aspects of understanding the replication, and transmission of drug resistance influenza viruses, characterisation of novel drug resistance mutations, and the global movement and evolution of human and avian influenza viruses. Aeron has published over 100 peer-reviewed research and review papers predominately in the field of influenza and is a committee member of various national, international and WHO Expert Groups and is a Principal Fellow at the University of Melbourne.
