Jesse D Bloom, PhD

Jesse Bloom is faculty in Basic Sciences and Computational Biology at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. His lab uses a combination of experimental and computational approaches to study the molecular evolution of influenza virus. Prior to beginning his faculty position at the Fred Hutch, Jesse performed a postdoc in Biology at Caltech with David Baltimore. He also received a PhD in Chemistry from Caltech, where he worked with Frances Arnold. He also has an MPhil in Theoretical Chemistry from Cambridge University and a BS in Biochemistry from the University of Chicago.
